GRAND ANNUAL COLLECTION:
Last year, we introduced a Grand Annual Collection in both parishes. This yearly appeal helps fund major projects that cannot be covered by the regular Sunday collection or available savings.
At St. Michael, last year’s collection helped pay for repairs to the church’s upper windows. This year’s appeal will continue to support that project. The total cost was $176,825. We paid $45,981 from savings, and last year’s Grand Annual contributed another $29,136, leaving a balance of $101,708. Our goal this year is $30,000 to help reduce this debt. Since we are paying interest on the outstanding balance, paying it off as soon as possible will save the parish money.
At St. Joseph, last year’s Grand Annual raised $14,792 toward a new alarm system for the Religious Education Center, which cost $25,000. This year, we hope to fund a new sound system for the church. The current system provides poor sound quality, and replacing it would help everyone hear more clearly and participate more fully in our Sunday worship.
