Eucharistic Adoration is a sacred practice in the Roman Catholic Church in which the Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored by the faithful. In this devotion, we come before Jesus Christ, who is truly present — Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity — in the consecrated Host.

Adoration is an act of love, reverence, and worship. It is a quiet, prayerful time to be with the Lord, to listen, to reflect, and to open our hearts to His grace. Far more than simply looking at the Host, Eucharistic Adoration is a continuation of what we celebrate at Mass, remaining with Jesus, who has given Himself completely to us in the Eucharist.

Whether you come for a few moments or a longer period of prayer, time spent before the Blessed Sacrament deepens our relationship with Christ and strengthens us to live our faith in daily life.

The Church and the world have a great need of Eucharistic worship. Jesus waits for us in this sacrament of love. Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Him in adoration and in contemplation that is full of faith.
— Saint Pope John Paul II the Great

Eucharistic Adoration is held every Tuesday evening from 6:30–7:30 PM at St. Joseph’s Church. At 6:30 PM, the priest or deacon will place the Eucharist in the monstrance — a rite known as the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. After a brief time of quiet prayer, a Gospel passage is proclaimed, followed by a short reflection. During this time, the faithful remain seated or kneeling in silent prayer before our Lord, truly present in the Eucharist. This time of prayerful presence is known as the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Some pray the Rosary, read from Sacred Scripture, or reflect with other spiritual readings, while others simply sit quietly with the Lord.

At 7:15 PM, we begin Solemn Benediction, during which all present kneel and receive the blessing as the priest traces the Sign of the Cross with the monstrance holding our Eucharistic Lord. All are warmly invited to join us for this Holy Hour on Tuesday evenings. You may come for the entire hour or for any portion of it — even a few moments in the presence of Jesus is a great grace. Worship aids containing all the prayers and hymns for Exposition and Benediction are available at the entrance of the church.

Eucharistic Adoration is also available everyday at St. Michael’s Church in the Daily Adoration Chapel, which is open every day from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
